====== Hit and Run ====== Since we have added FreeLeech our Hit and Run system has been overhauled as well. Below you will find answers to all of your questions. ====== General information ====== Every torrent you download, including FreeLeech torrents, should be in turn shared with the rest of the community. It's the basis of torrenting. If you just grab a torrent (hit) and then just delete it (run) the system would eventually fall apart. There are two ways for you to give back to the community: * Seed a torrent to at least 1:1 ratio * Seed a torrent for at least the minimum time required for your class in total. //Be aware that seeding time only counts for fully completed torrents (downloaded 100%).// Not following this rule will trigger a reminder and eventually an account warning, which in turn can lead to your account being disabled. Read more about these below. ====== How long do I have to seed a torrent? ====== The time you have to seed a torrent for varies per user class. The so called seeding time only goes into effect on torrents you have downloaded fully. Partially downloaded torrents will never accrue seeding time and need to be seeded 1:1. ^User class^Minimum seeding time^ |Registered|7 days| |Power User|7 days| |Extreme User|7 days| |VIP User|No minimum seeding time| ====== How does the system work? ====== For every torrent you stop seeding that is either not on a 1:1 ratio or has not been seeded for the minimum time required, you will receive 1 Hit and Run **//reminder//** on your account. The reminder will stay visible (and will count to your total amount of hit and runs) as long as you have the torrent inactive. If you have a total of 50 hit and runs on your account for more than 5 consecutive days you will receive a Hit and Run **//account warning//**.\\ \\ The difference between the reminder and account warning is simple: the reminder can be cleared instantly once you start seeding these torrents. Account warnings will be removed after 2 months of good behaviour, as long as there are no new infractions that yield another account warning. If this is the case you can get up to a maximum of 3 account warnings before your account is disabled.\\ \\ ====== Warning timeline overview ====== - If you stop seeding 50+ low ratio torrents for more than 5 days: The system flags the account and 1st warning is sent and the account is given one (1) month to correct the HnR/ seeding issues. - If you stop seeding 50+ low ratio torrents for more than 5 days after this month: The system flags the account and 2nd warning is sent and the account is given one (1) month to correct the HnR/ seeding issues. - If you stop seeding 50+ low ratio torrents for more than 5 days after this month: The system flags the account and 3rd warning is sent and the account will be disabled. After each account warning you are immune from any further account warnings for the duration of one month to give you chance to correct your HnR/ seeding issues. \\ If it has been Two (2) months since your last HnR warning then the system will remove 1 HnR warning from your account. ====== Where can I find my HnR torrents? ====== You can find them on your profile in the 'Hit and Runs' tab or you got a notice about it. ====== How to clear Hit and Runs====== A regular Hit and Run can be easily cleared by seeding the torrent until you have either reached a ratio of 1:1, or until you have seeded for the minimum time required for your user class (see above). Alternatively you can use the HnR tab on your profile page to either use your [[eys_points|ExYu Subs Points]] or your Surplus Upload Credit (basically your ratio above 1.0) to clear a HnR. You can clear as much HnR as your points or your ratio allow you to, but once your surplus ratio is depleted you can only use ExYu Subs Points. If those are depleted as well your only option is to start seeding your HnR torrents again. ====== How do I know if I can stop seeding? ====== You can use the snatchlist tab on your profile to see if torrents are seeded for either the time required or 1:1 ratio. ====== Hit and Run FAQ ====== ===== Am I immune from HNR if I donate for VIP? ===== Any HnR’s on your account would be wiped and cleared when you get/have VIP. All current & previous HnR warnings will be permanently removed from your account history.(HnR counter would be reset to zero also) Once the VIP period is over you will once again be subject to the HnR policy. Please note: no donation makes you IMMUNE for life. You are immune to Hit And Runs just for the period of your current VIP. ===== It says I have torrents that require seeding even though they are seeding? ===== Make sure your torrents are loaded and ACTIVE in your torrent client! ===== I can see a “torrent requires seeding” link but when I click on it there is nothing there? ===== If you just cleared a torrent it may take few seconds for the system to refresh the DB. Give it a few seconds and it would be fine. ===== There seems to be a difference between my client stats and the stats on my HNR list? ===== Please remember that the tracker is around 30 minutes behind your client as this is how often the tracker updates your stats. ===== I have slow upload speeds, will this result in all my torrents being on the HNR list? ===== No, it is the amount of torrents you download that will have a bearing on how many torrents you have on your list. You should only download what you can effectively upload back. If this means limiting how much you download to improve your ability to seed back then that is what you must do. An alternative solution would be to get a seedbox 3 ===== I have limited storage space so cannot seed my torrents back indefinitely? ===== You should limit your download activity to match your ability to upload those torrents back. it is no good to keep downloading torrents if you do not have enough storage space to keep them there until you have fully seeded them back. If you do not want to limit your download activity then you will have to invest in extra storage space, a seedbox 3 or a VIP plan 2 ===== Do I have to seed FreeLeech torrents back? ===== Yes, every torrent you download from ExYu Subs including freeleech is expected to be seeded back fully! Freeleech means your download doesn't count, so its a great way to build your surplus, but that doesn't mean you still don't have to seed it 1:1 or for a minimum time required for your class! ====== Torrent files and HnR ====== ===== What can I do to help me seed my files back? ===== You should try to download torrents within a few hrs(if no minutes) of being uploaded, and check the peer information on each torrent so that you know if you have a good chance of seeding those torrents back(high seeder/low leecher torrents usually are harder to seed back). Limit the amount of old torrents you download as these are usually the hardest to seed back. Finally, just invest in a seedbox 3 ===== I removed a torrent from my client when it reached a ratio of 1:1, it then appeared in my HNR list…why? ===== If you think one of your torrents has reached a ratio of 1:1 you should first pause it in your client and then wait a minimum of 60 minutes to give the tracker time to update. If the torrent does not appear in your list after this time period you know it is safe to remove the torrent from your client. If it does appear in your HNR list it will tell you how much more you need to seed back before you can remove it from your client. Always check your torrents in this way as it is the tracker ratio on that torrent that counts, not your client ratio. -Alternatively you can make sure that the tracker has updated by also pausing a torrent that you know has a ratio below 1:1 as well as the other torrent you want to check. Only when the tracker has updated will you see the torrent with a ratio below 1:1 on your seeding list. If the original torrent that you were checking has not appeared on the seeding list you will know for sure that it is safe to remove. ===== Why did a torrent that I “cleared” reappear in my HNR list shortly afterwards? ===== Any torrent you wish to “clear” must be removed from your client first otherwise it will appear back in your list afterwards. ===== Why is a torrent that I only partially downloaded showing in my HNR list? ===== Every torrent of which you have downloaded at least 10% will appear in your HNR list when you pause or stop seeding them before they reach a ratio of 1:1. Partial downloads never accrue seeding time, so your only option is to seed the data you've downloaded back to a 1:1 ratio. For example if you downloaded 25GB of a 100GB torrent but only seed back 5GB then you will have to clear the remaining 20GB by seeding (or removing it with TL point). ===== I've received a HnR warning but there isn’t any torrents in my required seeding list? ===== Please remember: If you have been away and received a HnR warning stating you had [x] HnR’s, when you turn your pc back on and log into your TL account your HnR’s will no longer be in your required seeding list as your client would have started seeding again and updated with the TL tracker.
